One more time around with this old story: Mediafire has locked up my account and I am suspended from "sharing school." Interestingly, the complaint that sealed my fate-- and only the second complaint I've had all year-- concerned the Sun City Girls' out-of-print Torch of the Mystics. What the hell, I guess.
This just is what it is. This is not the end. Expect new posts. Expect re-uploads. I will work backwards from the most recent posts all the way to the end. I will take re-upload requests as time allows. I think I'm going to try GlumboUploads for now, but I would definitely appreciate any advice you fellows out there might have. Edit: It seems like Glumbo is totally crappy, so for now I'm taking some good advice and trying out zippyshare. Let me know how it works for you.

Really sorry to hear about this. Given that Sun City Girls is Sublime Frequencies ... it's, uh, ironic.
dude! what the fuck man, that's terrible. i'm sorry to hear that. i think i have some of yr older exotica records stored away if you want them, although i'm sure you have saved. it seems people are using depositfiles or crocko these days, although both are slow as molasses. godspeed & best of luck my fellow shaman.
What Gary said. Known, er, thieves worried about an *oop* release? Which I, for one, have bought & paid for twice in varying formats? Please.
Zippyshare.
What a drag. So sorry you've been fooked with. How times have changed. Years ago, I produced a comp with an SSG track on it and the gents were as low-key and easy-going as could be. They fairly chuckled when I asked for permission in writing. Use whatever you want, they said. Sigh. Glad you're still inuit.
Holly's Zippyshare endorsement is seconded here.
Glad you're not giving up.
In fact, just yesterday after DLing Paul Mark, I started going in your archives to look for more I may have missed. I was introduced to Henrique Simonetti - Panorama Musical which led me to bossa-brasileira.blogspot.com where I found another Henrique Simonetti - Musica das Esferas (Music of The Spheres - an outer space/theremin record) & then I DLed Stan Kenton's Cuban Fire from you.
So I truly appreciate your hard work & eclectic taste in music.
As a relative late-comer to the world of obscure-music blogs, yours was the first i stumbled upon. in these last few months, through your exceptional taste and eminently enjoyable reviews, my mind has been both opened and blown numerous times. it's helped rekindle my waning interest in music. so i'm eternally grateful for what you do, and i wish you luck getting things back up. i think it's a terrible shame some asshole would complain about such an amazing place.
thank you again. take care.
I admire your resilience in these trying times.
What else can we ultimately expect when we need to use proprietary middle-man services to share via 'the cloud'? These guys are companies looking to make money, and so, they happily oblige in decimating our libraries they are hosting when the madness that is copyright law comes calling.
One day, (SOON, if I have anything to do with it) we will be able to share with each other like you can share a cup of sugar with your neighbor. You don't need mediafire to do that, and you shouldn't. We need something that allows us to securely, anonymously, transfers files between to computers directly. Not something all that far fetched, but also something that surprisingly does not have a good manifestation currently.
Until then, check this stuff out:

http://retroshare.sourceforge.net/
I don't have much experience with either, but I'm using them currently with my friends.
Peace, and goodluck with re-ups in the meantime.
Hi There,
I apologize for upsetting you with the MediaFire takedown, but we're trying to get the SCG catalog available and back in print again in the coming weeks. Part of that effort involves having all the unauthorized downloads taken down.
Using the search methods that we do, we did not even see the blog that the files were linked from. We went straight to MediaFire and found them there, hence the lack of direct contact. Getting those DMCA takedown notifications out directly to the filesharing sites is the only way I know how to do it effectively.
I work at Forced Exposure and am working on this project on behalf of the Sun City Girls and it was not our intent to cause havoc. I really just have to get the files down.
Hopefully you can understand my point of view.
